Texts that speak to awareness of God’s work

I Give Thanks
Jesus asked his disciples, “How many loaves have you?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.” Then ordering the crowd to sit down on the ground, he took the seven loaves and the fish; and after giving thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And all of them ate and were filled; and they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full.

(Mt 15:34–378)

I Ask for Help
The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of all that I have said to you.

(Jn 14:26)

I Review
My Father is still working, and I also am working. Indeed, just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.

(Jn 5:17, 21)

I Respond
The tax collector, standing far off, would not even look up to heaven, but was beating his breast and saying, “God, be merciful to me, a sinner!” I tell you, this man went down to his home justified rather than the other; for all who exalt themselves will be humbled, but all who humble themselves will be exalted.

(Lk 18:13–14)

I Resolve

You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.

(Jn 15:16)
